Wanneer de Linux kernel een stapel kader voor een signaal behandelaar maakt,
wordt een aanroep naar

ingelast in het stapel kader zodat de signaal behandelaar

zal aanroepen bij terugkeren. Deze ingevoegde aanroep naar
.B sigreturn
schoont de stapel op zodat het proces kan herstarten van waar het werd
onderbroken door het signaal.

keert nooit terug.
.SH WAARSCHUWING
De
.B sigreturn
aanroep wordt gebruikt door de kernel om signaal behandelaars te verwerkelijken.
Het zou

direct aangeroepen moeten worden. Nog erger, het precieze gebruik van het

argument verschilt afhankelijk van de architectuur.
